Educational Visions director Demitri Corbin embarks on a mission to meet the challenge of funding the arts.
Proceeds of calendar sales will establish the Majique Avant Garde Fine Arts Grant which will distribute funds to artists and arts organizations in Ojai and Ventura County.
This calendar is the first offering of Majique AvantGarde, a program with the mission of "promoting progressive and experimental art in the Ojai Valley." The calendar is a fine art presentation of environmental portraits in the nude photographed in the beautiful Ojai Valley. The images were created using a 4x5 camera and black & white film.
The theme of this project is 'Liberation!' Man's work should not define him, rather the character of the man should define his work. The "Men of Ojai" represent different creative expressions. We have artists, craftsmen, family men and spiritual activists. This project has been a unique opportunity to express artistically the finer aspects of man's nature. In doing so, it liberated twelve local men from their clothes, revealing the genuine beauty of human spirit and form!
